Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 ¼cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup finely chopped almonds
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy
  • Add extracts, then gradually mix in flour, almonds, and salt.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  • Shape tablespoons of dough into crescent moons.
  • Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • While still warm, dust with powdered sugar “moon dust.”

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
