Grilled Salmon

Grilling adds a wonderful smoky flavor to salmon and is perfect for summer cooking. It works well for larger fillets or salmon steaks.

Equipment

  • Fish grilling basket or foil
  • Long-handled tongs
  • Instant-read thermometer
  • Basting brush
  • Grill scraper

Ingredients
  

  • Salmon
  • Salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings
  • Oil for greasing grill

Instructions
 

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat (375–400°F).
  • Oil grill grates thoroughly.
  • Place salmon skin-side down on the grill.
  • Close lid and cook for 4–6 minutes without moving.
  • Carefully flip salmon, grill another 2–4 minutes to desired doneness.
  • Check internal temperature (125–130°F).
  • Rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Oil well to prevent sticking.
  • Use a wide spatula for flipping to keep fillets intact.
